Article Title: Failure to start after installation on an Intel Mac
Article Name: GENERAL10
OS Platforms: Mac OS X
Last Updated: 05/08/2007

TOPIC:

After an apparently successful installation of RiverTools 3.0 on a new Intel-based Mac (typically running Mac OS 10.4), RiverTools may fail to start up. A few menus may appear and then the program quits.

DISCUSSION:

There is a bug in the version of X11 that Apple included with some of the new Intel Macs. They released a patch which can be downloaded from their website at X11 Update 2006 1.1.3.
The startup problem can be resolved by downloading and installing this patch and then restarting RiverTools.
