Statistical Similarity Analysis

This image shows a statistical similarity analysis based on the comparison of normalized cumulative distribution functions with RiverTools 2.4. It shows that once normalized, the basin area distributions for basins of different Horton-Strahler orders have statistically similar distributions. This has important implications for hydrologic modelling and the scaling up of measurements made for small basins to larger basins.
