             RiverTools 3.0, Service Pack 2 Release Notes
    --------------------------------------------------------------

    Introduction:

    We very much appreciate receiving information from our
    customers regarding bugs and requests for new features.
    If you think you have discovered a bug, please send e-mail
    to support@rivix.com and describe the problem in as much
    detail as possible.  Service Packs with fixed bugs and new
    features are released periodically on our Downloads page at
    www.rivix.com.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    New Features:

    (1) Added "Fit Curve to Profile" to the Options menu of the
        Channel Profile tool window.  This opens a dialog that
        allows you to find the best-fit parameters for various
        longitudinal profile curve shapes such as logarithmic,
        exponential and power-law.  Parameters are printed to
        the log window.
       
    (2) Added "Use Upstream Profile" to the Options menu of the
        Channel Profile tool window.  This option generates a
        longitudinal profile from the selected pixel to the
        watershed divide by following the upstream path of
        pixels that have the largest contributing area.
    
    (3) Added "Start Downstream Profile" and "Start Upstream
        Profile" to the Options menu of the Vector Zoom tool window.
        This allows precise selection of which pixel to use as the
        start of a channel profile and then launches the Channel
        Profile tool.

    (4) Implemented much faster algorithm for creating shapefiles
        with the File > Export Vectors dialogs (for channels and
        boundaries).  Also added the "Min. pixels per RTM cell"
        text box to the File > Export Vector > Boundaries dialog.
        This option can be used to exclude basins smaller than
        some threshold size from the exported shapefile.

    (5) Added Extract > Derived Grid > RTM as Grid dialog.  This
        routine reads mask IDs from a RiverTools Mask (RTM) file,
        "embeds" them in a mask grid, and then saves the new grid
        as a RiverTools Grid (RTG) file with a data type of LONG. 

    (6) Added ability to sort the columns in a Shapefile Attribute
        Table by clicking on the column heading.  These tables are
        generated with the "View Attr. Table" button at the bottom
        of the Display > ESRI Shapefile dialog.

    (7) Added "All Colors Each Frame" to the Options menu of the
        Display > Grid Sequence dialog.  If this option is turned
        off, then the color table is stretched between the min and
        max values of the entire grid sequence rather than the min
        and max values of the current frame.  Also added the display
        of min and max values for each frame.

    (8) Updated the "Stretch" options in the Options menu of the
        Density Zoom tool with check boxes.  Also updated the
        Density zoom tool to honor current nodata and NaN colors.

    (9) Added "Max. contour value" to Display > Contour Plot.

    Fixed Bugs:

    (1) Fixed a bug so that window resizing is now more precise.

    (2) Fixed a bug with Prepare > Patch RTG DEMs when mosaicking
        or subsetting very small DEMs.

    (3) Fixed a small bug with the functionality of the Find button
        in the File > View Text File dialog.

    (4) Fixed a bug in the Prepare > Convert Flow Grid routine and
        added creation of HDR files for the ARC grid output option.

    (5) Fixed a bug that affected the ability to print Multi-layer
        plots to PostScript files.

    (6) Fixed bug with "Blue flats?" option to Display > Shaded
        Relief when there aren't any flats.

    (7) Fixed a bug in the Extract > Mask > Subbasin Mask dialog
        that affected creation of order 4 basin masks when "All
        basins draining to edge" option was selected.
  
    (8) Fixed a bug that caused a new detached log window to be
        created every time the File > Set Preferences dialog was
        opened when the "Detached Log?" setting in the "Main
        Window" preference panel was active.

    (9) Fixed a bug that caused some display windows not to be
        redrawn when resized when the "Scrolling master window"
        preference was active.
